Abbie’s volunteering year in Ghana

A volunteer teacher exploring and living in Ghana

I am currently an 18 year-old volunteer with a registered charity called Project Trust. I live in a rural town called Anyako Kpota in the Volta Region of Ghana. I teach in the JHS (Junior High School which is equivalent to secondary school) which includes ages 11-20+. The subject I teach is called career technology and is a combination of life skills, design and technology, science, food tech and business.

I have been in Ghana since September 2022 and my experience so far has been amazing. I am going to writing journal posts about my experience everyday.

I will also be posting about the day-to-day life as a volunteer, how you can become one and also be talking about my travelling experience so far.
